What To Wear To European Hot Spots – Spotlight: St. Tropez, France

St. Tropez, a name synonymous with glamour for over 50 years, has bigger yachts and more Hollywood celebs than any other European hot spot. Once a sleepy fishing village, the place was made famous by its most well-known resident Brigitte Bardot in “And God Created Woman.” Befitting a Mediterranean island with one of the largest concentration of designer shops in the world, the fashions are upscale and also bohemian chic, with the emphasis on upscale. Looking for a cute souvenir? Sorry, Chanel or Dior would have to do. Take a cue from the regulars who dock their yachts on the island such as P Diddy, Paris Hilton, Beyonce and don your sexiest bathing suit, your colourful caftan tunic, bejeweled sandals and designer beach bag. This summer, St.Tropez saw the rich and wanting to be rich alike decked out in white lace or crochet dresses, large straw hats and wedges.

Where to sun: Pampellone beach.
Hottest destination: Club 55.
Not to be missed at night: Caves du Roy in the Byblos hotel.
