FASHION NEWS: Mercedes-Benz Start Up Gives Chances To Upcoming Canadian Designers
A new initiative is giving Canada’s aspiring fashion designers a chance to get their garments seen on the catwalk. The Mercedes-Benz Start Up helps designers who have been in business for less than five years get the right connections and skills to move forward.
The program matches up the aspiring designers with fashion mentors to help them in their designs and business. These mentors can help the designers improve their skills and create a dazzling collection.
Four of the designers will be chosen to present during LG Fashion Week in Toronto where a winner will be crowned. The winner will get their own special solo fashion show scheduled.
This year the program was available to designers from Vancouver and Montreal, but hopefully with the success of the program it can be opened up to more cities and give even more designers a chance to have their work seen by the entire country.
Stay tuned for news on the finals as we get closer to Toronto Fashion Week in October.
