Alberta Ferretti To Use Real Women In Fashion Shows
All year the never-ending debate on using models who are too skinny has been at the top of fashion news headlines. Every day someone takes a stand to promote a more realistic body image on the runway. We have seen many designers using plus-size girls on the runways this year, now designer Alberta Ferretti will be using real women in her January fashion show.
On January 11th in Florence, Alberta Ferretti will gather a group of every day women from all walks of life to display her garments. The models for the show include Italian socialites, actresses, lawyers, doctors and a blogger. The designer calls these 30 women her muses for the limited edition line.
Alberta told WWD, “My muses are always the women of today. I wanted to show my outfits on women, not only on models like in Milan.” We are all about real style, so we love that Alberta is showing how her clothes can look on real women.
The collection will be a part of Pitti Uomo and will be available in stores, but they said it is so limited it will only be available for Alberta Ferretti’s “best clients.”
If you can’t get to Italy, the show will be streaming live on Alberta Ferretti’s website.
