FASHION NEWS: Madonna’s Material Girl Fashion Launches
After months of hearing about it, reading about it, and getting sneak peeks, Madonna’s Material Girl fashion line launched in Macys. A pink carpet and Madonna’s greatest hits greeted the hundreds of eager shoppers wanting to get the first grab at Madonna’s debut clothing line in New York City.
While Madonna and her daughter (co-creator of the clothing) Lourdes Leon were not at the official launch, fans who anxiously lined up to buy the first Material Girl clothing items were not disappointed. Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen, who is the face of the Material Girl ad campaign, made a guest appearance at Macys Herald Square. Taylor Momsen, who is currently focusing on her music career with her band The Pretty Reckless, gave shoppers an exclusive acoustic performance of her music.
It is all about the clothes though. Fashion bloggers who were at the launch were impressed. They say while the Material Girl line has a youthful feel and is aimed at teenagers, it could be incorporated into the wardrobe of any woman. The clothing has an 80’s rock feel to as you would expect from the Material Girl clothing line. Items such as the blazers and parachute pants were selling out fast according to fashion news reporters on the scene.
The prices are extremely affordable making the Material Girl fashion that much more appeal. With prices ranging from $12 to $40, who could resist?
