FASHION NEWS: Stella McCartney, Christian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen
Here is what is making fashion news headlines today:
Fashion designer Stella McCartney has designed a line of glow-in-the-dark clothing for her fall collaboration with Adidas. At first the idea sounds wild, but the collection could be a lifesaver for night time runners who want to stay safe. The Stella McCartney Adidas line includes a glow-in-the-dark jacket and running shoes which are available now for around $200.00.
We have talked before about the dangers of buying counterfeit merchandise. Tonight 20/20 is airing a television special about the plethora of websites selling fake Christian Louboutin shoes. Louboutins can cost thousands of dollars, but you can find millions of fake sites selling what they claim to be real Louboutins for a few hundred. The 20/20 special will show you just how good these knock-off Louboutins are and why they aren’t worth the cost.
A private memorial in honour of fashion designer Alexander McQueen has been announced. A special service will take place at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London during London Fashion Week to celebrate McQueen’s life and contributions to fashion. The memorial will be attended by friends and family.
