The reigning king of fashion Karl Lagerfeld is being honoured in France. France’s president Nicolas Sarkosy will present Karl Lagerfeld with a Commander of the Legion of Honour, the highest civilian award the country has. Karl Lagerfeld will get a silver star on a red ribbon. The Chanel fashion designer is not the first to be honoured by France this way. Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani and Valentino have previously been honoured with the award.
Fashion news source WWD reports that fashion designer Oscar de la Renta is accusing a fashion company of stealing his designs and prints. The fashion designer says dresses from the spring Max Mara Studio line are very similar in style and print to Oscar de la Renta’s 2008 collection. Max Mara Studio have apologized for the similarity and both companies are looking into it.
So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley is launching a new jewelry line with QVC. Cat Deeley says the idea for launching a jewelry line came from having so many people ask her where she found her jewelry for So You Think You Can Dance. She says the QVC jewelrry line is vintage inspired with a modern twist. The Cat Deeley jewelry line premieres on QVC later this month.
