Hobbs & Shaw Is Another Great Addition To The Fast & Furious Franchise

With there already being 8 Fast & Furious films, it was rather surprising when they announced that a spin-off for two of the characters was being made. A lot of questions came to mind before it was released too. Would it be as popular as the main series, how different would it be and would it feature the same kind of vehicular action we’ve come to expect? All those answers came pretty soon after starting to watch the film.

Clifton Hill Is A Fun Thriller That Will Keep You Guessing

TIFF 2019 had plenty of big name releases hit the silver screen this year, but as usual there were several lower budget films playing as well. One of those films takes place in Niagara Falls, on the world famous Clifton Hill. The film is even named after the street. It’s a mystery/thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end, and if you have a chance to see it when it finally gets a wide release, it will be well worth your time.

The True History of the Kelly Gang Makes Some Odd Choices

When you think of Westerns and outlaws, generally you think of films taking place in the United States, but what most people fail to remember is that the United States is not the only country ripe with such legends. In Australia one of the most famous outlaws is Ned Kelly, who fought the system throughout the 1870s and almost won before being caught and hanged. In this new film, True History of the Kelly Gang, you get a glimpse of the outlaws life, from when he was a child living in poverty to the day he paid for his transgressions.

Hustlers Doesn’t Quite Find Its Way

Hustlers has all the ingredients to be a great movie, including an impressive cast, good back story and amazing publicity. Unfortunately it has trouble with the execution, in that it doesn’t quite ever know what kind of movie it wants to be and loses track of itself along the way. It’s this one flaw that prevents it from being what it could have been.

Now that the film is out, it’s clear that the legacy of the books will carry on.

Pet Sematary Remake A Must-Own For Stephen King Fans

Pet Sematary was first released in 1983, and instantly became a huge hit for author Stephen King. Of course that wasn’t a huge surprise, considering at that time everything the best selling author wrote became a huge hit. Most of his novels eventually were turned into movies back then as well, and in 1989 the theatrical adaptation followed. The movie grossed over $57 million at the box office, which at the time was considered a pretty decent take. 30 years later the film has gotten a remake, and it did just about as well as the original.

That being said, it’s a great movie to add to your collection, not just for the replay value, but also for the special features.

Long Shot May Be The Comedy Hit Of The Summer

When we first heard of Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron’s new film Long Shot last summer, then known as Flarsky, we were intrigued. After all the pair didn’t seem like the ideal onscreen couple. But at that point the film had been receiving some pretty good feedback at early test screenings, and Lionsgate decided to push the film from a February launch date to one closer to the summer in hopes of cashing in on what could be a popular film. It finally hits theatres this Friday, and we’ve got to say, it’s a smart, fun film, and Rogen and Theron have some serious chemistry together.

Bumblebee Is A Must-Have on Bluray for Transformers Fans

Transfomers have been around since the 1980s, with a popular cartoon series and toy line launching the franchise, and throughout the years it’s only continued to grow. Last year’s spin-off Bumblebee proved that wasn’t true though, and that with a new director and a new vision, the series showed that it could continue to be successful.

Overlord Shouldn’t Be Overlooked on Bluray

Overlord is one of those movies that hits the theatre and quickly disappears because nobody knows what it is. It wasn’t advertised much, and the trailer didn’t play in front of a lot of films. While it did play during some of the smaller film festivals, and critics generally have given it a favourable review, Overlord still hasn’t gotten the love it has deserved. Hopefully word of mouth spreads though, because it is one of those films that you really don’t want to miss.

Mission: Impossible Fallout Is A Film To Add To Your Bluray Collection

Mission: Impossible Fallout was one of the biggest films of the summer, and proved that once again Tom Cruises’ insane ability to perform his own stunts is a box office draw. The sixth film in the franchise is also the series’ first sequel, in that the villain from the previous flick returned to cause even more chaos. The shocking thing about the series is that it doesn’t appear to be losing any steam either, and that the films will more than likely continue beyond this one. For collectors of blurays, the series is also a fantastic pick-up.
