Jeff Bridges To Receive The Lifetime Achievement Award At The Golden Globes

When you think of Jeff Bridges it’s hard to believe he’s in his sixth decade of acting. He started out appearing on television as a child in shows such as Sea Hunt and Lassie, before moving onto the big screen. His first big starring role came in 1971’s The Last Picture Show, for which he received his first Oscar nomination. This year at the 76th Annual Golden Globes, Bridges will be the recipient of the Cecil B.DeMille Award, which honours his lifetime achievement for film.

Oscar Nominations Announced

The 83rd annual Academy Awards are set to take place on Sunday February 27th, and this morning the nominations were announced. Those nominated were selected by the 5755 voting members of the Academy of Motion Arts and Pictures. There were a few surprises, but after the Golden Globes there are clear favorites to win in each of the categories.

True Grit Movie Review

Tron: Legacy – Movie Review

When Tron opened in 1982 it was heralded by critics for its spectacular visual effects, but criticized for its poor story and lack of heart, and 28 years later a sequel has finally arrived at theaters. The budget for the sequel is over $200 million, the effects have been upgraded, and Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner have returned.
