Green Book And Bohemian Rhapsody Take Home Top Movie Awards At 2019 Golden Globes

Green Book was certainly the story of TIFF 2018, taking home the People’s Choice Award, but it was very unclear how the film would perform at Awards shows. If the Golden Globes are any indication, the film is in for quite a run. The Peter Farrelly film took home three awards, including Best Musical/Comedy and Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for Mahershala Ali, and it now it looks like it might just be one of the favourites heading into the Oscars.

Best Films Of 2018

In many ways 2018 hasn’t been the strongest year for great films. Sure, there have been some big box office hits, a few great stories to watch, but unlike previous years there haven’t been a lot of films one would call “award worthy”. Perhaps it’s just getting harder to make a unique film that we haven’t seen before. Perhaps Hollywood is relying a little too much on sequels and reboots. Tiff can be a little overwhelming. After all with over 300 movies screening throughout the festival, it can be a little hard to figure out what you want to see. This year’s line-up features some of Hollywood’s (not to mention the world’s) biggest stars as well. Lady Gaga’s Las Vegas Residency Finally Gets Details

When it was announced last year that Lady Gaga was about to get a Las Vegas residency, fans were ecstatic. Gaga herself even helped fan the flames with a Tweet that said “The rumors are true. I will have my own residency in Las Vegas. I was made for this town, and I can’t wait to light up the Park Theater like never before…. this is just the beginning of a new era!” Since then however there hasn’t been a peep, and rumors started spreading that perhaps it wasn’t going to happen after all. Thankfully though it is happening, and will start on December 28th.
