Breaking Bad Returns October 11th
After months of rumours and anticipation, the Breaking Bad movie is finally official. Netflix announced the title, showed us a poster, gave us a title and above all, told us the film will be released on October 11th.
Over the weekend Netflix accidentally released information on the Breaking Bad film, but just as quickly as it was posted, they deleted it. That didn’t stop screengrabs from appearing online though, which showed Netflix announcing the film would be released on October 11th. Shortly afterwards Netflix doubled up though, releasing even more information, including a teaser trailer.
The Breaking Bad movie, now known as El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, will be released on October 11th, and at the moment very little else is known about it. In the trailer Skinny Pete (Charles Baker) is being questioned by police about where his friend Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) is. “I don’t know what to tell you, I only said, like, 500 times already,” Skinny Pete tells the police. “I have no idea where he is. Don’t know where he’s headed either. North, south, east, west, Mexico, the moon — I don’t have a clue. But yo, even if I did, I wouldn’t tell you.” Other than that, all we know for sure is that the film will focus on Jesse’s escape from captivity.
El Camino was filmed in secret last year, and will apparently continue on from where the series left off in 2013. In the final scene Jesse was driving away in an El Camino. The film is directed and written by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, and at this point it’s unknown if series star Bryan Cranston will be joining Paul. Cranton’s character Walter White appeared to die in the finale, and the actor has been very unclear as to whether he would be participating in the new film or not. If he does, it’s very possible that his scenes are just flashbacks.
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie will premiere on Netflix on October 11th, before airing on AMC, the network that originally aired all 5 seasons of the original series.
