Ewan McGregor Set To Play 70s Fashion Designer Halston

Ewan McGregor has played many roles throughout his career, and now he can add fashion designer to his list. The 47 year old actor has signed on to play famed 70s fashion designer Halston for a new TV biographical series by Legendary Television called Simply Halston that will follow the designer’s career.

Roy Halston Frowick was a fashion designer whose clients included Liza Minnelli, Anjelica Huston, Lauren Bacall, Elizabeth Taylor, and Bianca Jagger. He achieved international success in the 1970s in New York City, starting out as a milliner and progressing into womenswear, and his luxury label was one of the most popular around. His career continued to flourish into the 1980s, but eventually he found himself in a power struggle with new owners who eventually took control of the company from him. Halston passed away in 1990 from AIDS-related health complications at the age of 57.

McGregor is no stranger to TV, having won a Golden Glboe Award in 2018 for his role in Fargo as twin brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy.

There is no word as to when production for Simply Halston will begin, or when it will air.
