Criminal Minds To Return For A 15th And Final Season
CBS’s long-running procedural Criminal Minds is coming to an end. It was announced yesterday that the series was picked up for a 15th and final season.
The final season will consist of 10 episodes, which are set to be shot as soon as they finish up with the Season 14 episodes. The series recently aired it’s 300th episode back in September, and is set to air the season 14 finale on Wednesday February 6th. After the 15th season ends there will be a total of 325 episodes, which will make it one of the longest running shows in the history of television. The series will match ER and CSI in number of seasons, and will be fifth in the list of longest running dramas behind Gunsmoke, Law & Order: SVU, NCIS, and Grey’s Anatomy.
Criminal Minds has seen several cast members come and go throughout its history, but it currently stars Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez, and Daniel Henney. Some of the more high-profile stars in previous seasons have included Mandy Patinkin, Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore.
Criminal follows a team of FBI profilers who hunt down some of the country’s biggest criminals to prevent them from committing more criminal offenses. There have been several memorable antagonists for the team throughout the years, and rumour has it that one of the most memorable may be returning for the final season. As of this point though, no plot details have been released for the 15th season, other than it will be more serialized than it has been in the past. Some previous cast members may also return, but again nothing has been set in stone as of yet.
The final season of Criminal Minds will air later this year, and into 2020.
