Men In Black Set To Return With Liam Neeson and Chris Hemsworth

We’ve heard about Men in Black returning before, but a couple of years ago it was rumoured to be a mash-up between the popular sci-fi series and the 21 Jump Street franchise. When that plan eventually fizzled, the comic-book-turned-film trilogy disappeared from our radar. Recently however it was announced that Chris Hemsworth was set to star in a spin-off series, and now it looks like he’s found his partner.

Liam Neeson is in negotiations to star alongside Hemsworth, while Hemsworth’s Thor: Ragnarok co-star Tessa Thompson will play an as of yet to be named role. The Fate of the Furious director F. Gary Gray has already been named director, with Iron Man screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum having written the script. Steven Spielberg, who was the executive producer on the first three films, will return to the same role.

While the original stars of Men in Black, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will not be returning, their roles haven’t been recast either. The new film will take place in their world, but focus on new characters instead. Not much else is known at this point, other than the fact that Neeson’s character will be the head of the Men in Black organization in London, which is where the film will apparently begin.

Production will have to begin shortly on the film, if they want to hit their June 14, 2019, release date.
