Meryl Streep Imitates Donald Trump At Central Park Event
Meryl Streep demonstrated again last night why she is a legend in the acting world. The 66 year old actress took to the stage at the annual Shakespeare in the Park Public Theater Gala event at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park in New York City Monday night, and pretended she was Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Streep sported messy hair, Trump’s signature red tie, a fat suit and way too much self-tanner to imitate the presidential candidate. She was joined on stage by her Mamma Mia! costar Christine Baranski, who dressed up as Hillary Clinton. The duo then pretended to debate, in Shakespearian tongue no less. “You’ll let me know why it is all the women say no,” Streep said, followed by Baranski saying “Brush up your Shakespeare and the women you will wow. Just declaim a few lines from Othello, and they’ll think you’re a hell of a fella.”
The 3 time Oscar winner Streep of course has been a Clinton supporter for a long time. Last night Clinton also became the first woman to secure a presidential nomination of a major political party int he U.S. when she won the Democratic bid.
