Fox Reveals Fall Schedule And New Shows

For the past couple of weeks you’ve been watching your favourite TV shows coming to an end for the season, and the big networks have been announcing which shows are coming back or have been canceled. Now they are starting to announce which new shows are coming out this fall. This first of the announcements comes from Fox.

Lethal Weapon is based on the film series of the same name, and it stars Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans as Los Angeles Police Officers Riggs and Murtaugh (played in the films by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover). It’s scheduled to air Wednesday nights ahead of Empire. It’s not the only film series coming to TV though on Fox’s schedule.

The Exorcist will air Friday nights, oddly enough following the Gordon Ramsay cooking show Hell’s Kitchen. Alfonso Herrera, Ben Daniels and Geena Davis, star in the updated version that is based on William Blatty’s 1971 novel. It follows the story of two priests trying to save a family from a demonic possession that is destroying their lives.

Also premiering this fall, is Son of Zorn, a live action / animation cross over about a cartoon barbarian dad who decided to leave his life behind and move to the suburbs to be with his non-animated family. The show will air Sunday night between The Simpsons and Family Guy at 8:30.

Fox also announced that their The Rocky Horror Picture Show remake starring Laverne Cox as Dr. Frank-N-Furter will air in October. The 2 hour movie is currently filming in Toronto. Other new shows include the 24 reboot 24:Legacy starring Corey Hawkins and Miranda Otto which is set to premiere after next year’s Super Bowl; Star, which takes a look at the music industry by the creator of Empire; police drama APB; the ten hour event series Shots Fired; sitcom The Mick; reality series Kicking & Screaming; and time travel comedy Making History. Prison Break is also making its returns mid-season.

One series that was left off of Fox’s schedule is The X-Files. Fox did announce however that something is in the works, but it won’t be announced until next year.
