Ryan Reynolds Signs On To His First Post-Deadpool Film
With Deadpool being the biggest hit of his career, there was a lot of speculation on what movie Ryan Reynolds would sign on to next. Yesterday that was decided, as it was announced that the 39 year old would begin shooting the action film Hitman’s Bodyguard soon.
Hitman’s Bodyguard is scheduled to start production on April 2nd in London, and it’s directed by Jeff Wadlow who is best known for directing Kick Ass 2. In the Millennium Films production, Reynolds plays the world’s top protection agent whose new client is a hitman played by Samuel L. Jackson. The twist is the duo know each other, and despise each other, but need to rely on each other to get to the Hague in 24 hours. Gary Oldman plays the main villain of the film, a murderous dictator in Eastern Europe. Also starring in the film will be Salma Hayek and Elodie Yung, the latter of which will next be seen as Elektra in season two of the Netflix series Daredevil.
Reynolds, Jackson and Oldman have been attached to the film for quite some time, but nothing was set in stone until recently. Reynolds of course is an extremely hot property after the success of Deadpool, and Millennium Films will hope his recent success will follow him to this new film.
