Most Anticipated New Albums This October
Janet Jackson kicked off October with a bang by releasing her latest album Unbreakable last Friday, and that’s just the start of the hot albums expected to be released this month. Here are our favourites.
When Selena Gomez announced that she would be releasing her second album called Revival on October 9th, the pre-orders started to pile in. Then she started releasing individual tracks and music videos, and the anticipation got even stronger. With what we’ve heard of the album so far, we can tell that Gomez has grown up musically and might just start turning more heads. With a Tour coming up next year in support of the album, we can envision good things for the 23 year old.
Canadian singer/songwriter Dallas Green, otherwise known as City and Colour, is releasing his fifth studio album on October 9th. If I Should Go Before You is the first album for him since 2013’s The Hurry and the Harm, and he is so meticulous in the details of the sound mixing that he recently told the Toronto Sun that he wants people to listen to it with a really good stereo or headphones, along with your preferred beverage to relax to it.
OMI is all ready a household name thanks to his hit song Cheerleader, so it’s not surprise that his first album is highly anticipated. The album entitled Me 4 U is due on October 16th, and if it is as catchy as his other tunes, he might just have a huge hit on his hands. All his previous singles, Cheerleader, Hula Hoop and Stir It are included on the album as well as several previously unheard tracks.
Demi Lovato seems to be all over the news these days. From her appearance in Toronto for WE Day to her latest photo spread in Vanity Fair, and now with a new album set to be released on October 16th, she doesn’t appear to be going anywhere any time soon. The title of the album is Confident, and if the rest of the album is anything like the first single, Cool For The Summer, we’re confident the album will be a chart topper.
You might not have heard Bryan Adams name a lot lately (well, except for his performance with Justin Bieber recently in Germany). Get Up! is the Canadian superstars first album of new material in 7 years. The album was produced by ELO frontman Jeff Lynne and co-written with his long-time collaborator Jim Vallance.
Young pop-punk band 5 Seconds Of Summer are back with their second album on October 23rd. Sounds Good Feels Good has the track She’s Kind of Hot on it which reached 22 on the Top Hundred in the U.S. and 27 on the Top 100 in Canada over the summer. The Australian band have a very promising future ahead of them.
Former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood is releasing her fifth album, Storyteller, on October 23rd. After giving birth this Spring, Underwood returned to the studio to finish the album she had begun working on in 2014. The lead song Smoke Break was released in August, and reach number 5 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
