Celebrities With High IQs
You may watch their movies and television shows, but you really don’t know the actors’ and actress’ you see on the big and small screen. They may play action heroes, or make you laugh, but it is always a character they are playing on the screen. Here are some of the smartest celebrities.
You really have to be smart to be a politician, no matter what people think. And Arnold Schwarzenegger is smarter than your average body-builder. The Terminator star has an IQ of 132, but of course he also has bachelor degrees in international fitness and business administration.
There’s a reason David Duchovny played agent Fox Mulder so convincingly on The X-Files. His IQ stands at 147, and he has a bachelors from Princeton University and masters from Yale, both in English Literature. And if you haven’t seen it, you should check him out on celebrity jeopardy back in the 1990’s. He was almost unstoppable.
Ok, you had to know this one. Natalie Portman took time off from acting so she could get her bachelor’s from Harvard. She’s also been pretty vocal on her ability to speak multiple languages. She speaks at least six different ones, including French, German and Japanese.
Mayim Bialik not only plays a scientist on TV’s Big Bang Theory, but she’s one in real life. She has a Ph.D in neuroscience and degrees in Jewish and Hebrew studies from UCLA as well. She could have gone to Harvard or Yale, but chose UCLA to stay close to home. Her actual IQ ranges anywhere from 150 to 163.
He might make you laugh on his late night talk show, but Conan O’Brien is also extremely smart. He not only was a valedictorian from Harvard where he studied history and literature, but he also graduated magna cum laude. And to top it all off, he has an IQ of 160.
This one may surprise you. Dolph Lundgren usually plays the muscle in his movies. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but usually never very clever. In real life though he has an IQ of 160, and degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering from MIT where he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in 1983. Oh yeah, he can also speak six different languages.
It’s no secret that Madonna has had a very successful career as a businesswoman who has done an amazing job promoting herself, her image, and her music. Not to mention starring in several movies. Part of that has to come from her IQ, which is said to be 140.
Steve Martin was debating becoming a professor before he decided to become a comedian. He majored in Philosophy at Cal State and apparently has an IQ of 142. That just means he’s not as wild and crazy of a guy as we thought.
He’s made a career of playing dumb guys, but Ashton Kutcher is not the characters he plays. With a reported IQ of 160, Kutcher studied biochemical engineering at the University of Iowa before moving on to Hollywood. He also had the opportunity to attend MIT on a scholarship before getting into some trouble with the law.
Of course as impressive as this list is, no one in Hollywood comes close to James Woods. He had an almost perfect score on his SATs, took university level math classes while still in high-school and even had a scholarship to MIT before choosing acting as his desired career. Oh yeah, his IQ, a whopping 180.
