The 40th anniversary of TIFF has seen a showcase of celebrities walking the red carpets to help promote their movies. From Naomi Watts to George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, Real Style has been there to take part in the festivities.
On TIFF’s opening night on September 10th, Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts walked the red carpet to promote Jean-Marc Vallee’s latest film Demolition. Already receiving great reviews from critics and audiences alike, the film is definitely a contender for the People’s Choice Award.
Friday September 11th saw several red carpets help open movies, including the George Clooney produced Our Brand Is In Crisis. Clooney shocked the gathered press and fans alike by unexpectedly walking the carpet with the film’s star Sandra Bullock, and taking a moment to help introduce the film.
On Sunday September 13th, Julianne Moore and Ellen Page were joined by Michael Shannon as they walked the carpet for the adaptation of the Oscar winning documentary Freeheld. Several of the real life characters they were playing were also on hand to open the film, including Stacie Andree who was played by Page and Shannon’s Dane Wells.
And Monday saw Rachel McAdams (Sacha Pfeiffer) walk the red carpet with Liev Shrieber (Marty Baron), Michael Keaton (Walter ‘Robby’ Robinson), Mark Ruffalo (Michael Rezendes), and the Pulitzer award winning journalists they were portraying in Spotlight. McAdams and Keaton also returned after the movie started to talk with the press a little more.
