CBS Cancels Under The Dome
For everyone that has long wondered how the residents of Chester’s Mill would get out from the gigantic dome that suddenly covered their town, you are soon going to fine out. CBS announced yesterday that the third season would be the last season, and that the finale on September 10th would be the series ender as well.
The series based on the Stephen King novel of the same name was originally supposed to be a one season limited series, but after it’s initial success, CBS ordered a second season and forced the producers to figure out how to keep it all going.
“Two years ago, Under the Dome broke new ground in the summer and became an instant hit on CBS, as well as with viewers around the world,” said Nina Tassler, chairman of CBS Entertainment. “Dome’s event storytelling and multi-platform business model paved the way for more original summer programming with the successful rollouts of Extant and Zoo. We’re excited to present the final chapter in Chester’s Mill as the story comes full circle, with the Dome coming down as dramatically as it went up.”
Wait a second, did she just say the dome was coming down? The network also revealed that the final episode would feature one final conflict that some won’t survive. They also plan on revealing the mysterious origins of the dome. We’re curious to see who lives and who dies, and to find out how it all comes to an end. We suspect it won’t be anything like the ending of the novel, after all the series has all ready veered a fair amount away from the original story.
