For Summer 2015, the lineup includes everything from American-Canadian series When Calls The Heart to Sarah Lambert’s drama Love Child. Here’s a closer look at the CBC programs which are set to hit the small screen in the season ahead.

1) Fool CanadaTuesday, June 23, 2015 at 8:30 p.m. (9 NT)

Since us Canadians are known for our famously polite manners, this newly announced hidden camera series by British Columbia-born actor Will Sasso promises to test Canuck limits. Sasso’s series aims for humorous pranks, with a Canadian twist.

2) When Calls The Heart- Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 8 p.m. (8:30 NT)

Originally aired on the Hallmark Channel in the U.S, this series is set in the 19th century and stars Erin Krakow as young schoolteacher Elizabeth Thatcher. When Elizabeth arrives in a coal mining town on the Canadian Frontier after a tragic mine disaster, she’s set for a life which is very different from her own upper class upbringing.

3) Banished– Monday, July 27, 2015 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT)

Set in Australia in 1787, this BBC show tells the tale of British convicts who are exiled to Sydney as punishment. Despite the unappealing conditions, a romance manages to blossom between Elizabeth (played by MyAnna Buring) and Tommy (Julian Rihind-Tutt).

4) Please Like Me– Friday, July 31, 2015 at 9 p.m. (9:30 NT)

For anyone hoping for comic relief this season, Please Like Me stars Aussie comedian Josh Thomas as Josh, who has recently split from his girlfriend and realizes that he may in fact be in love with a man instead. Naturally, the series offers heartwarming drama as well, as Josh must help his Mom deal with an overdose of painkillers and cope with his dad’s new lady friend.

5) Love Child– Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 10 p.m. (10:30 NT)

The drama series created by Sarah Lambert takes us back to Sydney, Australia circa 1969, where star Jessica Marais plays midwife Joan Millar. Born in London, Joan must cope with her new environment, culture and a changing decade ahead.
