No Kardashian Parking Signs Appear In Hollywood

Is it a sign of the times when street signs start popping up in Hollywood declaring there is No Kardashian Parking Anytime?  Street Artist Plastic Jesus, otherwise known as the Banksy of L.A., sure thinks so.  After all he put up seven such signs throughout the city to get his point across.

“The Kardashian family has become ingrained in our culture,” the artist told The Hollywood Reporter. “We’ve allowed mainstream media to become so profit-driven, we are sacrificing genuine news stories to satiate our vapid celebrity obsessions.”  He went on to say that “I guarantee that same number of paparazzi was far greater than any number of photographers chasing real news.”

Plastic Jesus is known for running the Stop Making Stupid People Famous campaign, which he told THR is also “meant to criticize us as consumers. Without us, there would be no market for the Kardashians. We are equally, if not more so, to blame. The same people who will tag these parking signs on social media are the same people who will buy In Touch at the supermarket later this week.”

The signs can be seen on Melrose Avenue, on Robertson Boulevard near the Ivy restaurant, and even in front of Dash, the clothing store owned by Kim Kardashian and her sisters.  No complaints have been filed with the LAPD about the signs as of yet, although even they are considered to be vandalism.
