Rachel McAdams’ Best Movies

Rachel McAdams has always made her fellow Canadian fans proud. So proud in fact, that the London, Ont., actress will be acknowledged for her recent film achievements at this weekend’s Canada’s Walk of Fame, along with Ryan Reynolds, another Canadian fan favourite. To honour the Canadian starlet, we’ve put together a list of our favourite Rachel McAdams films.

The Notebook

Honestly, which girl doesn’t love this movie. It is the ultimate romance film, full of passion and heartbreak. Rachel plays Allie alongside Ryan Gosling as Noah in the Nicholas Sparks movie adaption of The Notebook.

The Vow

In this film Rachel plays Paige, who suffers from severe memory loss after a car accident, and doesn’t remember she is married to Leo, who is played by Channing Tatum. Throughout the movie Leo has to try and win her heart back.

Sherlock Holmes

Rachel plays Irene Adler in the new movie adaptions of Sherlock Holmes alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. Irene is a very mysterious and witty woman whom Sherlock deeply admires, and so do we.

The Time Traveler’s Wife

In this fantasy/romance film, Rachel plays the love of Eric Bana’s character Henry, who has a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel involuntarily. The movie focuses on the complications it creates for his relationship with Clare (Rachel) and how they deal with it.

Mean Girls

To this day, you can still see quotes from the 2003 movie Mean Girls, with sayings like “You can’t sit with us” and “On Wednesdays we wear pink” found on clothing and phone accessories.  Rachel plays alpha Plastic Regina George, alongside Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert.

See Rachel in her upcoming films Spotlight and Sherlock Holmes 3, coming out next year. You can also catch her on the new season of TV crime drama True Detective.
