10. The Lion King (1994)
It’s crazy to think that the Lion King was released 20 years ago! This Disney film won two Oscars the year it was released – and is still a favourite to many!
9. Toy Story (1995)
The first Toy Story was nominated for three Oscars, including Best Original Song, but, unfortunately, it didn’t win any, but that doesn’t mean the film wasn’t a success; it brought in $30,593,152 at the box office and has had two sequels since its release in 1995.
8. Monsters Inc. (2001)
It was hard not to love Sully and Mike Wasowski; they weren’t like the usual scary monsters that we were afraid of as kids! This animated monster movie was a Disney-Pixar hit!
7. Pirates of the Caribbean (2003)
This Disney film made over $305 million in sales and was nominated for five Oscars, including Johnny Depp for Best Actor in a Leading Role and Best Visual Effects.
6. Finding Nemo (2003)
This Oscar winning film for Best Animated Feature brought in $380,838,870 at the Box Office. And has a sequel, Finding Dory, coming out in 2015! (We can’t wait!)
5. Cars (2006)
In 2009, the global retail sales of Cars merchandise, about 300 items including toys, bedding and clothing, was close to $10 billion! This Disney-Pixar film also brought in over $244 million at the box office. (Cha-ching!)
4. Tangled (2010)
This much-loved Disney film brought in $200,807,262 at the box office. And was also nominated for an Oscar.
3. Toy Story 3 (2010)
When this movie hit theatres, it wasn’t just little kids and their parents lining up to see the third installment of this beloved Disney film, but the older generation who grew up with this beloved film, as well! So, it’s no surprise that the film raked in the cash, bringing in a whopping $940 million in the Box Office!
2. Brave (2012)
Brave took home an award for Best Animated Feature at the 2013 Oscars, on top of that, the Disney flick also brought in $237,282,182 at the Box Office!

The hype for Disney’s newest film hasn’t died down yet; the much-loved film, Frozen, was named the highest grossing animated film of all time, with global box office sales at $1.19 billion! As if that weren’t enough, fans cannot get their hands on enough merch, either! According to reports, there is a Frozen merchandise shortage in Disney stores across North America.
