Kim Kardashian Joins Blake Lively And Kate Bosworth On The Tech Trend
Kim Kardashian is at it again. If you one of the few that can’t get enough of the tabloid-cover starlet, you’re in luck, because Kardashian is now taking on, and investing in, the world of technology — by launching a video game.
Kardashian recently released an iOS game near the end of June, and sales have been soaring and is projected to rake in upwards of $200 million US.
How does this game make money? While it may be free to download, users need to use real money in order to purchase digital currency where they can then buy the latest in-app trends like jewelry and shoes. Glu Mobile says that this may just be their biggest game of the year.
Kardashian isn’t the only fashionista ditching the common endorsements. Just yesterday, Blake Lively announced the name of her new lifestyle website, which will focus on artisans and handmade one-of-a-kind items that will reportedly all be hand-picked by Lively herself.
Along with Lively and Kardashians, other celebs have picked up on this source of revenue, too. Gwyneth Paltrow has become well known for her lifestyle website GOOP and, again, just announced yesterday, fashionista Kate Bosworth is also jumping in to the tech-savvy consumer world with fashion app, Style Thief, which allows users to snap a picture from anywhere and find the desired product.
Is this new set of venture capitalists the new route to go for A, B and even C-list celebrities? According to the financial, this bunch of ladies aren’t just beauty — but brains, too.
