Eugenie Bouchard Reaches Quarter-Finals At Wimbledon

Canada’s new tennis sweetheart Eugenie Bouchard advanced to the quarter-finals Monday at Wimbledon to become the 1st Canadian in the open era to make it that far.

The 20 year old from Westmount Quebec entered the tournament ranked 13th in the world after an amazing run to the semifinals at both the Australian Open and French Open.

Winning at Wimbledon is nothing new for Eugenie however, as she was the 2012 junior Wimbledon winner.  In her next round she will play the winner of a match between fifth seed Maria Sharapova and ninth seed Angelique Kerber of Germany. Sharapova was of course her opponent in the semifinals at the French Open, who went on to defeat her and win the tournament.
