Real Style: Can you tell us more about your character, Harry, on Seed?
Adam Korson: Harry can basically be summed up by the following: if you’re a guy, you want to have a beer with him. And if you’re woman, you want to sleep with him… and you do. But then you get angry because he said or did something stupid, but it was totally by accident because he didn’t mean it and he’s really sorry. But you’re already out the door because it’s too late, and you get home really pissed off. But after a moment—a drink, some breathing space—you realize that what he did wasn’t so bad and he did apologize. He really is a good guy, and so you call him to say it’s okay, but he doesn’t answer because he can’t hear the phone because he’s playing video games. He also works at a bar and is a musician. Of course, the kids come into his life and that changes everything.

Real Style: What drew you to the show, and your character in particular?
Adam Korson: It was the writing. It was the first script in a long time where I laughed out loud while reading it. Joseph Raso has a wit and humor to his work that doesn’t come along every day. With that, he also has the ability to inject his characters with heart and humanity, and that is what I saw all along that drew me to Harry. Right off the first read, I understood him. On the surface, Harry can seem like a selfish, manipulative man-child bachelor, but what outshines any of those characteristics is his love and care for the people that are close to him. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, he’s just trying to figure out his place in the world like everyone else. And at the end of the day, when push comes to shove, he will always put the ones he loves before himself.

Real Style: What would your dream role be?
Adam Korson: John McClane in Die Hard. Too specific? Basically, a kick ass action film that can take you on a dramatic and thrilling ride, while also making you laugh along the way. That’s still quite specific. You can tell I’ve thought about that one before.

Real Style: What actor or actress has influenced you the most?
Adam Korson: So many actors and directors influenced me growing up. From Al Pacino to John Candy, Spencer Tracy, Lucille Ball, Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock, Carol Burnett, Robert De Niro, Tom Hanks, Martin Short, Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Billy Murray… Those are some of my faves.

Real Style: Did you always know you wanted to get into acting?
Adam Korson: For the most part, yes. I wanted to do a bunch of different things, but from a very early age, I realized it was what I was watching on screen. That’s when I knew. I owe that to my parents. They introduced us kids to films at a very early age and encouraged us to always follow what makes us happy.

Real Style: Are there any projects you’re working on in the coming year?
Adam Korson: There’s actually a really cool documentary on bullying called T.E.A.M, The Educational Anti-Bullying Movement. The difference with our film is that we’re focusing on the solutions to bullying. Our hope is that we will actually be able to implement this change in the near future. Real Style: When you’re not busy filming, how do you spend your free time?
Adam Korson: I love being outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, playing sports, surfing or just being in the ocean. Travelling, road trips. Basically, always looking for adventure.

Real Style: When you’re home, do you have a few favourite spots or people you need to visit?
Adam Korson: I love Duff’s Wings in Toronto, but the original spot at Bayview and Eglinton. They’re the best. Other than that, it’s spending time with friends and family all around Toronto.

Real Style: What’s one thing fans would be surprised to learn about you?
Adam Korson: I don’t know if this is a surprise, but I make really great eggs. Like really great.
