Real Style Joins CBC, CTV and Global in Celebrating the Best of the Canadian Screen Awards
Now that award season has come and gone in Tinseltown, it’s time to highlight our homegrown talents at the Canadian Screen Awards. Last year, Real Style was on the red carpet and backstage in the winners circuit at the inaugural event—which combines the Gemini and Genie Awards—to recognize the best in Canadian film, television and digital media, and this year we will once again be front and center.
Canadian icon Martin Short returns to host the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards, but he isn’t the only big name scheduled to appear. Talent already confirmed to be at this year’s event include Jay Baruchel (The Art of the Steal), Evelyne Brochu (Tom at the Farm), Cara Gee (Empire of Dirt), Mia Kirshner (I Think I Do).Jessica Lowndes (90210), Amber Marshall (Heartland), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black, Cas & Dylan), Shay Mitchell (Pretty Little Liars), Jessica Paré (Mad Men), Missy Peregrym (Rookie Blue), Jason Priestley (Call Me Fitz), singer-songwriter Serena Ryder, George Stroumboulopoulos (George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight) and David Sutcliffe (Cracked).
Iconic director David Cronenberg will also receive the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by his personal friend and collaborator Viggo Mortensen, who has worked with the famed director on three separate films.
Real Style is proud to be a media partner of the Canadian Screen Awards, which recognizes top Canadian talent. You can watch the second annual Canadian Screen Awards this Sunday March 9th, starting at 8 p.m. on CBC-TV, and we’ll be live tweeting behind the scenes, bringing you the best fashion looks and exclusive interviews throughout the following week.
