Golden Globes Predictions For TV

We told you our Golden Globes predictions for movies and now here are the predictions for the television categories of the award show:

Best Drama Series, Actor and Actress – Homeland Sweeps

America is still having a major love affair with Homeland and we are sure it is going to sweep the categories. It will keep Breaking Bad and Boardwalk Empire down, while Damian Lewis and Claire Danes take the acting categories.

Best Comedy or Musical Television Series

Girls probably split voters as much as it did viewer, but there was no denying that Lena Dunham created something new and exciting in her sitcom. These Girls deserve the recognition.

Best Actor In A Television Series – Comedy Or Musical

We don’t know if the other nominees in this category are friendlier with the Hollywood Foreign Press, but we do know that this was Jim Parsons best season on The Big Bang Theory to date. Thanks to help from co-star Mayim Bialik, Jim had some amazing lines and arcs in Sheldon Cooper.

Best Actress In A Television Series – Comedy or Musical

Everyone loves Julia Louis-Dreyfus, so she is a shoe in for another award for her role in Veep.

Best Miniseries

This is a toss up because of all of the heavy hitters behind these flicks, but we think the History channel western Hatfields & McCoys surprised people enough to win them the award.

Best Actor In A Miniseries

Again this could be a toss up. Clive Owen is always brilliant on screen, Woody Harrelson was terrific in Game Change and Sherlock has been getting rave reviews, but we think Kevin Costner’s performance in Hatfields & McCoys will take home the statue.

Best Actress In A Miniseries

There is no question that Julianne Moore will go home with the Golden Globe for her portrayal of Sarah Palin in Game Change. She was brilliant.

Best Supporting Actor

While we want to give this to someone else, we think Game Change deserves more recognition so we would give this to Ed Harris. That said, Modern Family is always a popular choice with voters and Homeland could steal one final award here.

Best Supporting Actress

Downton Abbey needs to get some recognition at the Golden Globes, so we will give this award to Maggie Smith, but it could go any way really.
