Music Review: Rock Of Ages Soundtrack

If you have a soft spot for 80’s power ballads and musical scores, you need to pick up the star-studded soundtrack to the upcoming film Rock Of Ages. Based on the popular musical of the same name, Rock Of Ages celebrates the glam rock of the 90’s. Whether you have seen the stage show or not, the soundtrack to the movie featuring songs sung by Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones and more is going to knock your socks off. This isn’t something you can take too seriously. This is all about fun.

Tom Cruise is probably the most surprising of the bunch. As rock star Stacee Jaxx, Cruise gets some of the great songs of the era including Guns N’ Roses’ “Paradise City”, Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead Or Alive”, and “Rock You Like A Hurricane” by Scorpions. Cruise gives it his all. You would never know this was the same guy who told us we completed him. It gives me a whole new respect for Cruise because this is a bold and daring feat and he gives it 110 per cent. He rocks!

Alec Baldwin and Paul Giamatti also give it a great go on their parts in these 80’s classics. We already knew that Catherine Zeta-Jones and Russell Brand had terrific voices thanks to their respective films Chicago and Get Him To The Greek, so their talent comes as no surprise.

While Cruise is the most shocking, it is Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta who are the stars of the soundtrack. These two lesser known actors are the lead roles and make up the majority of the soundtrack. With only a few television roles under his belt, Diego and his great voice is going to surprise and win over many young hearts.

So get your big hair ready, get in the car and take the Rock Of Ages soundtrack on your summer road trip because you are going to be singing at the top of your lungs for this one! Watch the trailer for the film now and get ready:
