Music Review: Michael Buble – Christmas

by guest blogger, Music Writer

Everyone dreads the day when stores flip the switch to 24/7 Christmas music. Pop stars have been remaking classic your favourite Christmas songs for years and in 2011, Canadian crooner Michael Buble has released 15 classic holiday songs in his style to get you in the spirit. If you have to listen to modern renditions of holiday songs, it really doesn’t get any better than this.

The reason you like the old versions is because of the nostalgia that comes along with listening to a Bing Crosby or Frank Sinatra. You remember them from when you were a child. Michael Buble has done the greats proud and remade these songs the way you remember them. There is something comforting about the classic way in which he sings ‘It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas’ and ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.’ These are versions of the songs that you will want to share with your kids now.

This album is very long, but since most of you will have it playing in the background while you are unwrapping presents or cooking Christmas dinner, its length is actually a good thing. You may not want to put it on your iPod though for fear of being overwhelmed with joy. It’s really no wonder the world has embraced Michael Buble’s Christmas album, because there is enough holiday joy on here to make your heart grow two sizes this season.
