Entertainment News Round-Up: Taylor Swift, Two Soap Operas Canceled And Charlie Sheen
Taylor Swift is purchasing her parents a house. The country singer has sold over 20 million albums and is a multi-millionaire by 21, and yet she shows that the fame hasn’t gone to her head. She recently paid $1.4 million for a luxurious three-bedroom house in Nashville, Tennessee for her folks. She has also reportedly bought herself a new home in Los Angeles. (WENN)
Long running soap operas One Life To Live and All My Children have been canceled. The former will end in January 2011, while the latter will air its’ last episode in September. Both shows will be replaced with two new lifestyle shows. ABC president Brian Frons said “While we are excited about our new shows and the shift in our business, I can’t help but recognize how bittersweet the change is. We are taking this bold step to expand our business because viewers are looking for different types of programming these days. They are telling us there is room for informative, authentic and fun shows that are relatable, offer a wide variety of opinions and focus on ‘real life’ takeaways.” (EW)
Charlie Sheen has been telling his fans recently that he’s been in negotiations with Warner Brothers and that he’s 85% sure that he will return to Two and a Half Men. Warner Brothers however have sent a letter to Charlie’s lawyer asking him to stop lying. The letter says “Those statements are false. As you know, there have been no discussions, there are no discussions and there will be no discussions, regarding his returning to or having any involvement with the series.” (TMZ)
