Thankfully for makeup lovers who adore classic beauty, the look of timeless red lips will always be in style. Although Spring 2016 may mean that petal pink lips and soft blue eyeshadow is set to reign supreme, dark and intense beauty is a perfect fit for the evening hours. If you’re looking to update your typical scarlet pout, try drawing your beauty inspiration from this easy tutorial.

1) Start by applying liquid foundation to your visage: To launch your look, apply liquid foundation to your face and carefully smudge the makeup in with a beauty sponge. Next, prepare your eyelids for the next step by applying eyeshadow primer.

2) Apply soft orange and yellow shades of eyeshadow: Once you’ve prepared your skin, move on to the next step by perfecting your eyeshadow statement. Gently smudge light orange or tangerine-hued shadow to your lids, and add yellow shadow for a beautifully blended look. Be sure to emphasize the inner corners of your eyes with the sunny yellow hue, and use an eyeshadow brush to blend the two sunset inspired shades.

3) Add black liquid eyeliner and contrasting yellow liner: To further define and enhance your eyes, use black liquid eyeliner on your upper eyelids for a wide awake look. Next, trace your lower eyelids with shimmering yellow or gold-toned eyeliner. Use a basic black eyeliner pencil to further define your lower eyelids.

4) Conceal dark undereye circles with liquid concealer: If you’re concerned about your undereye circles, apply a liquid concealer product in order to create a flawless complexion. You can also highlight your nose with the product, and use a beauty sponge to carefully smudge in the makeup.

5) Apply coral eyeshadow and mascara: For a finishing touch, highlight your lower eyelids with coral-toned shimmering eyeshadow. Next, apply black mascara for a sultry effect, apply false lashes if desired.

6) Set your makeup and apply bronzer: Use a lightweight setting powder to keep your newly crafted makeup look under control, and contour your cheekbones with bronzer for a sun-kissed glow. Use a coral-toned powder blush to bring your cheeks to life, and create a flushed complexion.

7) Finish your look with brilliant red lip gloss: While matte red lips may be more suitable for the winter months, the arrival of summer calls for a glossy pout. To polish off your red lip statement, slick on a luscious crimson lip gloss and prepare to stun!
