Beauty Interview

“Devious Maids” Star Dania Ramirez’s Beauty And Fitness Secrets

As Rosie Falta on the Lifetime series Devious Maids, 35-year-old star Dania Ramirez plays a Latina maid working in the star-studded world of Beverly Hills. Off the screen, the Dominican Republic-born actress and mother of twin toddlers keeps up a dedicated beauty regimen! Real Style chatted with Ramirez about her five must-have beauty products, her favourite makeup for olive and tan complexions, and how she keeps herself toned and trim.

Real Style: What are your five favourite beauty products for summer?

Dania: I like Shu Uemura Nourishing Protective Oil, I have to keep my hair moisturized.

I like CoverGirl’s Outlast Lip Stain, it’s a purple stain with SPF. I love that for my lips. I also love YSL Mascara.

Thibiant Beauty has an SPF 50+ Sunscreen, it’s an antioxidant sunscreen. It’s perfect for the summer, and it gives my skin a glow. I feel like I’m always out in the sun, especially in the summer and I like to feel like I’m protected and that my skin is always sort of glowing (and not matte and white).

I always carry a bottle of Evian Mineral Water Spray, just to keep hydrated. It’s just like a can of water, and if it gets too hot, I decide to spray it on. Also, Urban Decay makes these summer colour lip glosses (Revolution High-Color Lipgloss), and they’re always fun. If you go to the beach all day and you want to stop after the beach to get something to eat, you’ll look cute!

Real Style: Do you have any top picks for makeup for multicultural olive and tan skin tones?

Dania: I’m really a fan of the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, just because it’s very light but I feel like they really understand the yellow undertones in tan coloured skin. A lot of the times you’ll get pink undertones and sort of look a little ashy, but I think their foundation is just amazing.

Real Style: Describe your fitness regimen for staying in shape on such a busy schedule!

Dania: I like to implement my workout throughout the day; I try to walk everywhere when I’m not working. I keep up my cardio. If I do have time, when I’m back in L.A and I’m home, I go to hot Pilates. Their website is, and Shannon Nadj actually owns it. She’s my trainer, and she’s just absolutely amazing. It keeps you in shape, it’s mass Pilates, so it’s not just on the reformer (because I get a little bored sometimes with the reformer). It’s hot Pilates so you sweat it out a lot, but it’s a lot of core work. I always feel that if I do it for a few weeks, and take maybe two weeks off, it makes my muscles feel long and lean. For the summer, that’s beautiful.
