If you’ve decided to ditch your beauty regiments with ingredients you just can’t pronounce, you may be thinking about a few DIY body products that are natural and chemical free.
Coconut has been the latest trend this year because of its beauty benefits and incredible scent. If you’re all out of body scrubs, this DIY exfoliant bar is a great idea and is sure to keep your skin feeling ultra smooth and lightly scented. It’s super easy to make and a luxurious treat that everyone deserves after a long, cold winter.
What you’ll need:
½ cup finely ground coffee
½ + 1/3 cup coconut oil
1 tbsp pure Shea butter
2 tbsp white sugar
¼ tsp vanilla extract or a few drops of essential oil (optional)
Mini muffin tin for molding
How to make it:
Start off by melting the ½ cut of coconut oil and Shea butter in a glass jar or bowl in the microwave. After 30 seconds, stir and repeat the process until completely melted.
Stir in the coffee grounds, sugar and add the vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly.
After that, begin to spoon the mixtures into the muffin molds. Place in the freezer to set for about an hour.
After it’s been set, melt the remaining 1/3 cup of coconut oil and pour it over the frozen bars. In just a few minutes, the coconut will begin to solidify.
For garnish, top the bars with a coffee bean and return the muffin tin to the freezer in order for it to set completely.
These bars should remain solid at room temperature. However, it’s recommended to store these bars in your fridge to prevent them from melting quickly in a hot shower.
