What It Is:
This new botanical-mineral fusion foundation from Yves Rocher is created with antioxidant-enriched soybean extract. As a key ingredient, this extract is derived from the soybean plant and is known to have anti-inflammatory and anti-aging skin care benefits. Packed with Vitamin E, soybean extract can lead to increased collagen for refreshed skin with a youthful glow.
The liquid foundation in a pump bottle claims to offer 14 hours of coverage, a perfectly smooth complexion and lightweight coverage. According to Yves Rocher, a study of 105 women over seven days revealed that 86 per cent of participants found that the foundation kept its promise as a perfecting foundation.
The product is available for four skin tones. The Rose shade is meant for either fair skin or slightly darker tan complexions with a touch of redness. Meanwhile, Beige and Medium are both meant for olive or tan complexions, while the Brown shade flatters darker and richer skin tones.
With the brand’s focus on botanical and natural beauty, even the packaging is eco-friendly. As a finishing touch, the glass foundation bottle is actually made of recycled materials, while the outer package is created with cardboard from sustainable forests.
What We Thought:
At first pump, Yves Rocher Zéro Défaut Flawless Skin Foundation released a delicate, earthy scent. While foundations with a harsh chemical odour are always a beauty turn-off, this product left us with a light and airy fragrance instead.
After carefully applying a touch of the foundation in the hopes of flawless skin, we were pleasantly surprised. The lightweight foundation is sleek, subtle and offers a hint of coverage that brings a glowing no-makeup look to mind. Living up to its French name, Zéro Défaut concealed any visible skin flaws with an even layer. After a busy eight hour day, the foundation was still mostly in place.
For beauty addicts with an uneven complexion or stubborn blemishes, a thicker layer of this incredibly light product may be needed. For anyone preparing for a night out or a hectic day which approaches the 14 hour mark, an evening touch-up may also be needed.
Pro: The foundation offered glowing skin, light coverage and had an inviting fresh scent
Con: A thicker application may be needed for beauty lovers with an uneven complexion, or an extra application to bring you through that extra-long day
