Beauty Review: Garnier Fructis Color Shield Heat Protect & Shine Spray

Photo: Garnier

What It Is:

This leave-in heat protecting spray is part of Garnier Fructis’ Color Shield collection. The spray is created with acai berry extract, which supports strong locks, as well as camelia seed oil to act as a conditioner. It aims to protect hair from heat styling and also offer colour-treated locks a hint of shine. The product is boosted with UV filters, grape seed oil and the sugar-derived compound xylose, which strives to shield those dainty locks from the harsh effects of styling tools.

The spray can be spritzed onto freshly washed and damp tresses or used on dry hair. After shaking the bottle, the spray is misted on and then gently brushed in. As an added bonus, it promises a smooth hair texture.

What We Thought:

After washing our locks, we tried Garnier Fructis Color Shield Heat Protect & Shine Spray on slightly damp hair. With a subtle scent, the spray made an immediate positive impression. However, it quickly packed quite the punch despite its delicate fragrance.

For beauty addicts with longer or thicker locks, this spray may be a solution to distressed strands or dreaded wintertime tangles. Surprisingly, just a couple of spritzes had a speedy effect and quickly left us with shining strands.

If you’re hoping to keep a highlighted or coloured mane in shape this winter, this beauty buy may be a new essential for a quick post-shower hair care regime.
