How To Get Kim Kardashian’s Bangs Without Cutting Your Hair
As we mentioned earlier today, Kim Kardashian cut bangs just in time for the holidays. It looks like Kim didn’t want to miss out on one of the most popular hair trends of 2012. Earlier this month, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, debuted bangs just before announcing her pregnancy, Beyoncesported new bangs while hitting the voting polls during the Presidential election, and Sophia Bush chopped off big, bold bangs at the end of November. We love the bold new look that these ladies are popularizing, but many of us don’t actually want to go through with chopping off our locks just to follow a trend, since it takes forever (sometimes even longer than a year, since hair grows just half an inch a month) to grow them out.

Fortunately, you don’t actually have to chop off your long locks to sport the bold bangs trend of 2012. Even Kim Kardashian’s hair dresser doesn’t think so! Kim got her new bangs cut by none other than celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan, the man responsible for creating “the Rachel” ‘do of the ’90s, made popular by Jennifer Aniston on Friends. He’s also the guy who chopped off Miley Cyrus’ long locks into a cropped ‘do this fall. Although Chris took actual scissors to Kim Kardashian’s bangs (Kim tweeted: “Fun shoot today @mrchrismcmillan He just can’t control his scissor hands! #bangs.'”), he doesn’t think you need to actually cut your hair to rock bangs. In fact, Chris has used clip-in bangs on Jennifer Aniston when he styled her hair for a cover shoot for Allure magazine last year. The photos on the left of Jennifer were actually taken on set of her cover shoot — same day, one clip-in! Check out the video at the bottom of the page to see Christ McMillan discuss Jennifer’s temporary bangs for the day!
We love the idea of rocking bangs for a few of our holiday parties. The end of the year is the perfect time to be experimental with your hairstyle! Jessica Simpson actually makes clip-in bangs in various hair colours that make for a fun temporary new look for a night on the town for just under $30. If you’re daring enough to visit your hairstylist to cut bangs like Kim Kardashian, then we say, “Go for it!” If, like us, you’d like to opt the 2012 bangs hair trend for a few odd holiday parties without committing to a new hairstyle that will stick with you well into Spring 2013, we recommend some clip-ins. Who knows what the New Year will bring?!
