Kate Upton’s Body Inspires Song
Super sexy supermodel Kate Upton has inspired a song about her body. Although that might not come as a surprise, you might be amused to know that the song is actually a total girl power track about how Kate is helping shape the way 21st century women view themselves and their figures. Kate is known for embracing her curves and not letting critics — some of whom have stooped so low as to call Kate Upton fat — make her want to alter her shape. The curvy cover girl has even landed high fashion editorials with magazines like Vogue, despite having a figure that many consider to be more “swimsuit model” and less “high fashion model.” And that’s what inspired singer-songwriter Victoria Aitken write the song “Body” using Kate Upton as her muse.
“When first reading about some of Kate’s earlier crossover coverage from swimsuit into haute couture editorial, it became part of a larger idea about penning lyrics to a song thattruly embraces moving freely,” Aitken told British Vogue. “This song is for the Kate Uptons and how they are changing the way we should feel about our body – and she should be celebrated. Get down Kate, you rock!”
Although we’ll have to wait until January 2013 to hear “Body,” Aitken also wrote a song about androgynous model Andrej Pejic this year called “Fashion Boy” that’s already available.
