Kim Kardashian’s Top 5 Post-Holiday Diet Tips

Kim Kardashian might be one of the most relatable women in Hollywood… at least when it comes to dieting. The curvy reality star and her famous sisters have always been quite open about their efforts to stay fit. The rake thin body type might be the norm in Hollywood, but it’s actually quite refreshing to see women with curves embracing their figures while at the same time make efforts to stay healthy and fit.

Thanksgiving might be over for our American friends, but the holiday season has only just begun. Office holiday parties, Hannukkah, Christmas and New Year’s are just around the corner, and Kim Kardashian wants to help you get ready.The petite star with an hourglass shape took to her blog to share her secrets to keeping her curves in check. Here are the dark-haired beauty’s top 5 tips to slim down after a holiday feast. We suggest keeping them in mind after every major indulgence from now until January 1st! Get your New Year’s resolution started before 2013 makes its debut.

1. Throw Out Leftovers
As tempted as we are to make hot turkey sandwiches after a turkey feast, Kim insists you should just throw out your leftovers before you’re even tickled by the idea of making a not so wise TV dinner choice. Although Kim insists on her blog that you should ” Throw out those left overs!” we don’t necessarily think you have to take it that far. Get rid of the bad stuff like mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy (preferably by packing it up and giving to a guest) and save healthy things like green veggies, lean turkey meat and, of course, ingredients to make stock.

2. Grab Some Workout-Related Bargains
We like the way Kim is thinking here! We definitely think it’s more inspiring to make it for your bi-weekly hot yoga class if you’ve got a brand new Lululemon workout suit, are you’re definitely more inclined to hit the treadmill at the gym if you’ve got a new pair of New Balance jogging shoes to break in. Kim suggests taking advantage of the post-holiday sales to get yourself something inspiring to work out in: “There are tons of deals in stores and online so treat yourself to a new workout outfit or some new sneakers that will get you motivated to hit the gym.”

3. Find A Friend
Kim Kardashian is definitely a good role model for using the buddy system when it comes to the gym. “The best way to get motivated is to find a friend to workout with you,” says Kim. “Kourtney is my workout buddy right now. Ask a friend or relative if they want to workout together.” Maybe you’re not as tightly knit with your family as the Kardashian sisters, but there’s always a way to create your own buddy system. If you can’t find a friend to workout with, we suggest joining classes and attending the same one at the same time each week. You’ll end up having a crew of new friends who hit the same class as you on a regular basis, and you’ll be more likely to workout if you know people will ask where you were the following week if you missed out!

4. Don’t Beat Yourself Up, But Stay Focused
If thereis one thing we love about secretly watching the odd episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, it’s that Kim and her sisters never shy away from enjoying a plate of pasta or having dessert once in a while. The idea is not to miss out on the holidays all together! You just merely have to balance out your indulgences with a little exercise and healthy eating. “We all gain a few pounds here or there during the holidays, and that’s fine,” says Kim. “But get back into your regular lifestyle and focus on eating healthier and limiting your ‘treats’… after all, Christmas is just around the corner.”

5. Drink More Water
“You’d be surprised the difference drinking more water can make to your weightloss mission and workouts,” says Kim. “Most of us don’t drink enough, and you’ve probably been avoiding water these last few days and treating yourself to sodas, alcohol and yummy holiday drinks. 2.2 litres (about 9 cups) per day of water is what you should be drinking, so strive for that!” If you find drinking water to be just kind of bland, why not add a slice of lemon or a few pieces of cucumber for a super refreshing taste? Another fun and surprisingly helpful tip: Drink your water from a gorgeous goblet or fancy wine glass. You’ll be more likely to reach for a glass of Waterford than you will a plastic cup, and why should the people drinking alcohol have all the fun?
