How To: Get The Snake Braid

Blame it on Katniss Everdeen. Ever since The Hunger Games came out last spring, we’ve noticed braids everywhere we look, from red carpet film premieres to fall 2012 catwalks. The braid is no longer just a casual way to tie your hair back, and it no longer gives off a sense of school girl innocence reminiscent of Anne of Green Gables or Little House on the Prairie. Braids are badass, and what could be more good-girl-gone-bad than a hairstyle called “The Snake Braid”? That’s right. Just when we thought the braid couldn’t be reinvented again, we came across this new trend inspired by serpents. While the braid itself looks intricate and complicated, it’s actually not as hard to achieve as we imagined it would be.
