Sun-Friendly Perfumes For Summer
Many people love to change their perfume depending on the season, but what you might not know is that the scents you choose in the summer could cause you to burn in the sun. Many scent notes including sandalwood oil, bergamot, rosemary and lavender contain photosensitizers which could leave you with small brown spots or burns in the areas these perfumes are applied. However, there are plenty of great scents you can try this summer that don’t contain any of those pesky burn-causing notes.
Ralph Lauren ‘Romance’, $62- This pretty scent has notes of rose, marigold, ginger and lily. A great scent for summer because it is light and floral without containing any photosensitizers.
Cartier ‘Must’: The Cartier ‘Must’ scent is deeper than the Ralph Lauren, with rich scents of mandarin, jasmine, musk and vanilla. Great for someone who likes muskier summer scents.
Issey Miyake ‘L’Eau d’Issey Eau de Parfum’, $69: With lotus, peony, carnation and amberseed notes, this scent is a floral-heavy option that’s sure to satisfy anyone who generally loves lavender scents.
Versace ‘Crystal Noir’, $52: This scent is described as floral and oriential, with notes of gardenia and amber. Another great option for a summer replacement perfume without any potential for burning.
