Another passion Lavi enjoys is photography. “I love photography,” she states emphatically. “I love that form of storytelling. To me it’s another way of stepping into character and capturing a mood or an emotion. I also see fashion as a beau- tiful art form of expressing one’s self.” That in itself explains why when her friend, Canadian photographer Erica Kiara, visited her recently in LA on the set of Lucifer, she ended up on a beach taking several beauty shots.
Lavi met Kiara in Toronto while filming the sec- ond season of Imposters, thanks to some mutual friends. “She offered to come by and snap a few behind the scenes shots,” Lavi says. “I thought she’d probably come for an hour, if that, and she ended up coming by whenever she could, snap as much as she could and bond with everybody on set. By the time we wrapped she was a part of the family. Since then she’s been a constant light in
my life, incredibly gifted and a pure joy to have around. I continue to be inspired by her eye, heart and creativity every day.”
If you think Lavi spends hours getting ready for shoots, think again. “I’ve come to a place of comfort in my skin,” Lavi says. “I have my regi- men and it keeps me at ease for life or a shoot, but to be honest, makeup and lighting can go a long way, so I’m not as worried as I was when I first started out in my 20s.”
While Lucifer has yet to be confirmed for a fifth season on Netflix, and Imposters may or may not return on a new network for a third season, Lavi is never at a shortage for work. The actress told us she is now developing a few projects from her own production company, and if the pattern persists, she will find work on a new series soon so that she can continue gracing our screens for years to come.
