ROCHA SHARES HER SECRETS FOR LOOK- ING AND FEELING GOOD THIS SPRING.
what are you adding to your closet for spring?
I need a great trench coat.
how has being a mom affected your wardrobe?
It hasn’t really. I don’t think women need to give up on or change their own style just because they have a baby. you can look fabulous and change a dia- per—the two are not mutually exclusive!
what fashion essentials should we have ready for spontaneous invitations?
you can never go wrong with a little black dress and classic heels.
how do you pull off a well-rested look after a late night out?
Take that makeup o and put some cream on. I have friends who say they’re too tired at the end
of the day and say, “oh, I’ll just sleep with it on.” I was that girl, and it’s just no good. And then don’t be going out so late. Know your limits. I have a lit- tle kid who will be waking up at 6:30 a.m. or 7 a.m. every morning, so I go to bed at 9:30 p.m., usually.
if we raided your makeup bag, what would we nd?
I bleach my hair with Balmain and I have a ton of their hair products—they smell good and feel good. Especially with my blond hair, taking care of it is so important, just as much as my skin. I love Burb- erry, Make Up For Ever and Dior makeup—there’s a mix of everything and I change what I’m using throughout the year. A really dark, solid eyebrow is my thing right now.
what do you think is your most attractive quality?
I love a good laugh. I mean I take myself seriously to a point, where it’s important, but I love a good laugh and I want to always have fun. A sense of humour is important to me in friends, in myself, and in my mate. Make me laugh and I will like you.
counts. Take her Instagram feed, where on any given day you can spy her sipping from copper pineapple-shaped cups alongside Sienna Miller, or perching Ioni front and centre at her rst fashion show in Paris. Rocha’s social media following on Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and various other social media platforms tops over 17 million followers worldwide. In growing her digi- tal footprint, this model mogul is catching the opportunity to successfully build her own personal brand.
So it’s not surprising she has admiration for strong women, most notably Hollywood screen legend Elizabeth Taylor, when our talk switches to beauty icons. “She was such a powerful woman in her time. I’m sure there were de nitely some sad and lonely moments, and I think we can all relate to that. We can be the busiest women in the world and still be a little lonely in it,” she shares. “We live in a time where there are all these stylists, who can tell
you what’s in season, what you should wear, and it’s not about your mood or how you feel you should be portrayed. Whereas Elizabeth Taylor went by her own rules and wore whatever she wanted to wear and people loved her for that. We need to stop going by rules and just wear what we want to wear; just forget the season, or the time, or the era.”
We can certainly take a cue or two from Coco about dreaming and achieving big. Despite being crazy busy inside and outside the home, she welcomes opportunity
to keep on knocking. “I hope I continue to work with the professionals and creatives I love to collaborate with, for many years to come. At the same time, I’m excited to try my hand at different entrepreneurial ventures. As long as there are doors open to me, I am going to try to use them.”
