artistry In Silk: the Kimono Of Itchiku Kubota, February 7- May 13, textile Mu- seum, toronto
 is February, the works of late Japanese artist Itchiku Kubota o cially arrive at the Textile Museum in Toronto.
Featuring 41 kimonos that were crafted between 1976 and 2003, the exhibit showcases pieces that Kubota made
up until his last year of life. From
ink drawings to traditional dyeing techniques, Artistry In Silk showcases the beauty and detail that go into creating an authentic kimono.  e designs themselves feature everything from gold leaf to tie-dye and intricate embroidery, all with an emphasis on Kubota’s craftsmanship. A must-see for those following Asian art and fashion but unable to jet o  to Tokyo.
