When We hear Inbar LavI’s duLcet voice on the phone from Los Angeles, we detect just the faintest hint of a charming Is- raeli accent among the American girl next door vowels. Of course, this shouldn’t surprise us in the least. At 31, the Imposters actress has spent almost half her life in the United States.
Lavi hails from the Ramat Gan region of Israel, which is east of Tel Aviv, and rst left home as a precocious 17-year-old. Fast forward to January 2018, and the Real Style cover girl is starring as Maddie in the dark comedy series Imposters, which returns on Bravo for Season 2 this spring.
So what exactly drew Lavi from her exotic hometown to the lights, camera, action of Hollywood?
The bubbly, gracious star laughs as she re ects on her journey. Surprisingly, her voyage was hardly a direct ight from Israel to Tin- seltown. Rather, Lavi’s rst destination in her new country was New York City, in pursuit of the fabled American Dream. “I think I didn’t really do the right kind of research. Some kind of stereotype of New York was stuck in my head. That’s where I always saw myself going to,” she tells us.
