Spider eyes
at Paris Fashion Week, christian dior’s spring/summer 2018 haute couture show reinvigorated a modern take on 1960s lashes. taking fashion week by storm, the beauty technique features a thick coat of dior mascara accompanied by a thin stroke of liner. Paired with an otherwise bare face and minimalist detailing, spider lashes create a youthful, wide-eyed look. While clumpy mascara is something you’ve probably been trying to avoid much of your life, the defined, almost animated, wide-eyed doll look ensures that you will be noticed wherever you go. Follow dior’s cues and experiment with chunky lashes for a playfully sweet look this spring.
hot launch
the erdem x nars spring Flowers collection
The Canadian-born, London-based fashion designer erdem Moralioglu is set to make his much-anticipated crossover into
cosmetics with the release of his first colour collection this month in partnership with NARS. After two years in development, the 13
piece capsule collection made its long-awaited debut at London’s Fall/ Winter 2018 Fashion Week. Inspired by the 1930s and ’40s, Erdem
has incorporated his distinguished use of floral motifs throughout the collection. While the soft, pale blue, floral-embossed packaging reflects
erdem’s traditional, romantic silhouettes and luxe fabrics, the highlight of this collection are the six lipsticks that range from modest to daring shades and are all named after wild flowers such as Moon Orchid and Carnal Carnation. The collection also includes the Poison Rose Lip Powder palette, made to achieve the classic red pout, as well as the multi-use White Phox Highlighting Pencil, claims to create iridescent skin with blue and purple undertones. Just in time for spring, the erdem x Nars collaboration just might brighten up your makeup game for the season ahead.
