Birks is celebrating its 135th anniversary with a rebranding and the opening of a store under the new Maison Birks name. Birks CEO, Jean-Christophe Bedos announced today that the luxury jewelry brand would be giving itself an update.
The biggest changes are in the new name and logo. Instead of just being called Birks, you will now find Maison Birks bringing in their French Montreal roots and giving the line a much more exclusive feel. The new Maison Birks logo features a diamond shape and the year the brand was established, 1879.

Maison Birks is also opening up new stores that will hold only their collections exclusively. The first store will open in the Mapleview shopping centre in Burlington, Ontario. It will feature 16 collections made of Canadian diamonds.
