WWD reports that Dolce & Gabbana are expected to appeal the court’s decision.
The Dolce & Gabbana court case has been ongoing since December 3 of last year. The Italian police charge the designers along with board member Cristiana Ruella, Dolce’s brother Alfonso Dolce and finance director Giuseppe Minoni with tax evasion totaling 416 million euros. This is all related to the sale of the Dolce & Gabbana brands to an outside company based in Luxembourg to allegedly avoid taxes in Italy. Originally the charges were thrown out of court, but it was taken to the Supreme Court who has now sentenced the designer to jail time.
