We love when someone asks us who we’re wearing, and we get answer back, “Joe Fresh.” The fashion-forward and incredibly affordable line makes it easy for anyone to update her wardobe with the latest trends without breaking the bank. To help us jump into autumn in style, Joe Fresh Style Director Adrienne Shoom told us all about her favourite fall 2012 fashion essentials.
What are your three fall essential must-haves for women this fall and why?
a. A statement coat — love the ’60s-inspired Joe Fresh topper in this season’s must-have fall colour burgundy, or if you love the military trend that rocked the runways, the Joe Fresh pea jacket is perfection.
b. Graphic colour is key this season — great way to add colour with a colour block sweater or colour jean at Joe.
c. Geometric patterns — prints and patterns are everywhere this season. Mixing and matching prints looks modern. I love the Joe Fresh geometric print silk shirts, pleated silk skirts and shift dress.
What are you favourite trends this season and why?
a. This season I will try to wear more colour, instead of my usual black, grey and whites! I also love all the masculine/ feminine tailoring that is on the runway and think the pantsuit looks new and tres chic. I will definitely invest in the Joe Fresh tuxedo jacket and matching pant, but you will have to wait until holiday. The tuxe rocks!
What are your favourite fall accessories and why?
a. This season the mixing of textures looks modern. I love the faux fur accessories with tweeds with shine and chunky knits.
b. Also the ankle boot is really important. I love the black Joe ankle boot. It looks new with this seasons must- have pencil skirt, another key shape for fall.
What are some of the biggest style mistakes women make in the fall?
a. There are no rules in fashion. Fashion is about individual style. Wear what works for you
How do you define the look and feel of your fall collection?
a. This season’s collection features rich colour, luxurious texture and bold patterns. Deep reds, royal blues and rich mustards are prominently featured on sophisticated tweeds, lush silks and soft leathers, which are offset by bold uses of chevron and houndstooth patterns. Colour blocking, peplums, long skirts and cropped jackets fuel the refined ‘60s vibe of the collection — an evolution of the spirit presented for Spring-Summer 2012.
